IM NEW TO THIS TOO, BUT FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN THESE ARE COMPLETELY CUSTUM MACHINES SO NO 2 ARE EXACTLY THE SAME IN LENGTH WIDTH ETC. I WOULD SAY START BY FINDING OUT WHAT ENGINE I WAS GONNA USE. THEN FIND A STOOL THAT FITS AROUND THAT ENGINE. THEN FIGURE OUT FRAME LENGTH WIDTH AND STEERING HIGHT FROM THAT. ALSO REMEMBER YOU COULD POSSABLY SHORTEN THE LEGS OF THE STOOL SOME SO LONG AS YOUR MOTER HAS CLEARANCE IF YOU FEEL IT IS TOO HIGH. FIND A COMFORTABLE HIGHT FOR YOUR STEERING WHEEL OR T BAT FROM SITTING ON THE STOOL ON FRAME AND MAKE YOUR STEERING DEVICE ACORDING TO THAT DEMINTION.

It has to be comfortable to ride, the lower the stool height , the lower the center of gravity! The rear axle length and rear tire width along with the stool you use will all dictate most of the dimensions of the racer. The first racer I built was fun to ride as long as it was in a straight line , but sooner or later you have to turn around. I just started my fifth racer , I am getting all the parts together and will start fab on the frame after Labor Day! Good Luck w/ your build!!! Snakester

What length do you recommend from the rear axle to the front spindles?

Just about anything will work. Under square (shorter than wide) is kinda squirrely and too long makes it hard to get over speed bumps. Other than that you are welcome to stretch your imagination........Terry

can some one give me the length and width of there bsr please lol, and a pic of it, like how wide it is from spindle carrier to spindle carrier, then how wide it is from the rear end, outside of tubing to the other outside of tubing, got me? This is just to get a idea while im drawing in my room, havent measured or anything yet, trying to make things to amaize people lol. This is my first 1 so its going to be kinda simple. and then how long from the front of front tire th the back of the back tire..
Thanks Ryan

If that is all you want why don't you send Mike the bucks for a set of plans. They have all the dimensions you are looking for. That is what I did and I have yet to build one that looks like the plans. <G> And it can happen instantly with a credit card........Terry

Sorry To Hijack The Thread But Just Had To Ask Terry The Pic You Posted Above Is It One Of Yours?? I Was Planning A Simular One As A Garden Kart For Around The Farm. If It Is I'd Love To Get A Few Detail Pics From Ya To Help My Design.

No, found it on the net. I too am stealing some of the details for a tandum BSR that I am building. Just wanted to show how much you can streach your mind if you want. Such as this............Terry

hey RRE,
first off, good luck on the build,
here is a picture and the dimensions of one of mine. I have built 3 now, and none of them are exactly the same.
outside to outside of front wheel:32 inches
outside to outside of rear wheel:36 inches
wheelbase(front to back):29 inches
seat height:29 inches
steering height:36 inches
total frame length:39 inches
total frame width:14 inches
frame width is 14" because that is the width of the barstool. I found a picture of the frame on the internet, found a stool to get the width and tried to scale it out from the picture I had. I cut 4 inches out of the stool legs to lower it a bit for a sleaker look. I am 5'6", and it works great for me. These are my measurements, but I am sure there are alot of different ones. I hope this helps. be sure and post some pictures of your progress.

You Sure Can Get Creative If You Let Yourself With These. I Wasn't Going For A Tandum But Was Gonna Put A Bed On It To Carry Cargo Like That One. Where On The Net Are You Finding These?

RRE,

You can get plans with all the dimensions you need at Barstool Racer Supply (http://barstoolracersupply.com). Click on the link below to check them out:

The plans not only cover diminutions, but a lot of little things you should know to make the build a success.
