Hi Ironfist104... great job on the flyer wagon, is that a 2 cycle engine off a old snow blower? Looks like the same engine that i put on a home made scooter... the one I used did not have much power and got oil everywhere. I hope your's works better than mine...anyway keep up the good work...

yup! that where it come from a snowblower.... the differance is that I replaced the lower pan gasket and machined a new conecting rod out of steel instead. this thing can hit 5000 rpm and hold it no problem. I took it out for a kwik test run today I got about 50 mph out of it after a quarter mile.it takes a bit to take off cause of the clutch but when it gets rolling it hauls a$$. By the way those two strokes are 110cc

Thanks a lot bro, it looks c00l
the engine looks kinda small but if you say its a 2 stroke 110 cc its great, maybe its just that the big tires make it look small.
Good Job, Keep posting....oh BTW where´s the wagon? lol

Man that looks like alot of fun. Very cool.
Not sure i'de have the guts to run 50mph oh it though. lol . Your crazy .
How did you bend the tubing ?
Ironfist104
August 27th, 2006, 12:46 AM
I didnt bend it this wagon is 100% recycled junk metal....I used store displays. The rack they use at walmart for movies and stuff....when I build these thing I try to spend as little as possible. And for Some reason it always looks better cuzz of all the fancy bends and brakets that come with that kind of junk steel.

Just make sure it will handle the weight and stress.
What wall thickness does the tubing has?
Ironfist104
August 27th, 2006, 09:58 AM
The stuff i tend to use is about 16th of an inch think some stuff is a bit thiker. And if ya notice how much weight those displays can handle it good steel. if yur lucky it made out of stuff that compares to cromoly. Of course ya have to engeneer it right if you look at my design it all triangles plus the radio tub bolted to it that in it's self is a big angle iron.
ya Have to know how to build properly and use the proper software if ya have the software to design that kind of stuff. My BSR is built out of the thinest material posible. but it is also double frame too for the strenght. that BSR frame is way over buit it has no flex in it at all so is the wagon. none of my projects broke yet, Im pretty rought on them too I jump curbs with the BSR thats hairy lol, ya defanatly got to make sure to jump off square no angle jumps lol learnt that the first time almost wiped out. the wagon wont be able to do that since I didnt design a suspention on it.

OK , that makes me like it even more. That's kind of funny cause the other day i stopped at a garage sell ( my daughter just had to see what they had, man they learn early) Anyway he had 2 old shopping carts and i was looking at them thinking i could build a BSR frame out of those. They where sqaure tubing with some tight bends. Sad thing is that i was in the car not my truck, so it was a no go.

Well if you designed it with CAD programs and stuff like that I feel you´re safe to go.
1/16 inch is very thin. Needs proper welds and probably gusseting. But after what you said I think you got the skill and knowledge for going on.
Hope everything turns out fine. We´re waiting for more pics

LOL ya dont whant to know how many things Ive built out of shopping carts....The stores out here looze quite a few HEhe!!!!
Even my mig cart is a cut up shoping cart...

Went for a good ride today And figured out ither I got to put my comet diff. in there or make it one wheel drive cuzz it really dont like to turn that for sure.....on dirt ain't to bad but on pavement I'm lucky to turn a 10' radius.....it literally stalls the wagon. other than that it rips..more photos to come soon hoping to get someone to video tape me too....

Mine is exactly the same way. I have played with the caster and camber but the way we have the front end with little weight on it it just slides. I have a front hub coming and I will lathe the axle down to 5/8 for it. I will let you know if it fixes the problem.

Was thinking of going one wheel drive but the problem with that is when ya have to hamer the brakes it will want to pull like krazy....I think Im gona fit my small diff. I have here...

I will find out tomorrow if it pulls when braking. I just finished latheing the end of the axle shaft down. I did leave room to cut it off if it doesn't work and put it back the way it was.

Finally quit raining here and I took it for a ride. Turns on a dime and does not pull when braking. It will lock up the 1 rear tire pretty easy though. It still stops good so I will probably leave it alone. I set it up for the right wheel to drive and free wheel the left rear. On pavement it does great. Wet grass it tends to spin the 1 wheel but if you ease into it it goes good. Does good donuts too.

Very cool, now I want to build one of these. Are you guys just "winging it" so to speak, building a frame based off the wagon dimensions? Where is the best place to buy parts?
2nstoys
September 14th, 2006, 08:34 AM
Yep, I was just winging it. Found the best price for the wagon on ebay. Some parts I bought from Mike right here and some off of ebay. Just takes a little longer when you have to wait for auctions.

2nstoys,
What is your wheelbase measurement and your track width? How about the dimension from Kingpin to Kingpin on the front? Just trying to get some basics and go from there.

tell ye the truth I got no idea I'd have to mesure it all up again I just ent with what looked best with the tub I bought....give ya the mesument tomorow...

Wheelbase is 41", Spindle bolt to spindle bolt is 20.5" and the width from the outside edge ot the tires is 35". Hope this helps you.
