 I'm looking for information on the animal engine?
Does anybody have any idea what kind of horse power this thing has?
I'm looking to replace my 6.0 Hp Tecumseh engine with this unit.
I wonder how many Rpm's this thing will turn?
I want to haul a-- and be able to drive around the pits at the race track slow without this thing loading up.
I also wonder how much hassle it would be to install on my stool? It appears to be a straight-up install except
I would have to make a custom header pipe for it.
Thanks

Can you really pull 7000 RPM's on a stock motor? I have a Briggs Raptor that is built for racing on my son's Go Kart and my engine builder said not to turn it over 6800. This is a $1200 racing engine with a billet rod and steele crank.
I'm not doubting you because I dont know anything about the new animals.

A stock motor will turn around 6000 RPM
A stocker (big difference) will turn around 7000 RPM
The reason it makes more factory power is because it comes with a .255 lift cam, aluminum flywheel, and a 22mm carb. If any of the 6-6.5hp motors had these upgrades it will make around the same power.

Thanks for the clarification Mini. I know the Animal is required next year at the state races here in FL. I guess I will need to learn more about them.

Ive got a Animal right out of the box and it pulls a fullsized yard kart around real well. Im very impressed with the power of this monster.

I was on 4cycle.com and found this info on the Animal. This may help you in making a choice in motors. I have seen the Animal on the internet for less than $500. Converted to alcohol, it makes over 10 hp between 4500-5500 rpm.
here is the location of the info:http://karting.4cycle.com/faq.php?faq=summerlin#faq_animal
