I built this a couple of years ago. Myself and a couple of buddies had a little competition to see who could build the best bar stool racer and this was my entry...

I installed a plow last fall so I could plow my driveway over the winter (I live in northern MN):

Thanks!
I actually had most of the parts (axles, driveshaft, T-case) lying around after swapping out the drivetrain on my Jeep for a Ramjet 350/NV4500/NV241/Dana 44s. The steering box and brake master cylinder I found on an old truck at the junk yard and I got the wheels from a friend for cheap. The engine was new, and steel isn't exactly cheap these days, but I doubt I put over $800 into it when it was all said and done. Cool thing is, is still works perfectly 3 years later. I got a trailer for a garden tractor for it and use it for hauling firewood. :)
I used to live down in the Cities and would drive through Elk River quite often on my way back up to my folks place (I'm originally from Park Rapids). Nice place.
I guess they're having some sort of Bar Stool (http://www.barstoolraces.com/)Racing deal (http://www.gulllakefrozenfore.com/)up here on Gull Lake (just north of Brainerd) next weekend (March 3rd). You pay 250 bucks and and that gets you a bar stool racer to ride in a series of races (double elimination, I think) and the winner gets $10,000. I'm not going to race or anything, but the wife'll be outta town and a buddy got some free tickets so I'll probably be going to watch and drink beer... You should come up.

Hello Jake cool Build up man!! 4 Wheel Drive Pulling machine!! Good enginering!! You know some just do not get it!! You build something that is different and some can not see the beauty of it! I can see it! I like what you have done!! I also believe if you disagree with the way something looks to you, you should still be polite and either say nothing or point out the good parts of it, not be so rude to put some one down for any reason. Its best some time to keep your own opinions to yourself!! We all need to keep this Forum good for all who come in here not get into name calling, cursing each other but to encourage, help and be friendly to each other!! Especially to someone New to the forums!! If anyone puts down someone or makes fun of some ones build on this forum I feel that is not just!! I am sorry this happened to you Jake when your first post here got a Negative comment from a member here! I can not direct what is said here on the forums. I do believe we should all respect each other when we comment on a post or reply to a comment made by another member! It goes both ways!! Mike gave use these forums to be a help to each other and to share our builds with one another! Not to down grade and put each other down!! The only thing I can say is lets try to be nicer to each other! I am not meaning to put anyone down by this, only encouraging each other to show respect for each other!! Thanks for your post jake of that cool ride and hope to see more pics of it. It would be cool to see some Monster Mudder tires and wheels on it!!

Jake:
I checked out the link to the races on Gull Lake, it sounds like fun.
I'd never have mine done in time.
Hey, who said Minnesotants don't know how to have fun in the winter. Where else could you go Ice Fishing on your BSR all while pounding a few brews.
I'd love to come up. But work will have me in Grand Rapids that weekend.
I hope it will be an annual event. I'll be all over it next year.
