Got any suggestions for what size wheels is good for a BSR?

I have a Tecumseh 6.5 and am not sure what size or width i would want.

And should the wheels/tires be the same on front and back? I had been thinking about maybe running some fatter wide slicks in back.

And tires too. They got some lettered tires for these awesome beasts of barstool racers?

And i'm thinkin slicks just for that look, most of my driving will be on that asphalt parking lot, but i should look at knobbies sooner or later in case i find a dirt track LOL.

thanks,

Mike

Hey FatDog,

I used knobby tires from Burris. Great for traction on wet surfaces.

Information about the rims and tires I used can be found in the forum at this link:

I tried to click on the above link but it just takes me to the main page. Can you tell me here what you are running for tires and rims? Sizes? I am starting to accumulate parts myself to build the bsr. I have pictures of bsr all over my office and home garage. I think I have started a craze up here in Maine. I live in a new sub-development and I think this may take off so we can have a few races in our neighborhood. :)

I bought some second-hand (but brand new) racing go kart wheels and tires. Common sizes are 6" tires on ~7" wheels in the front and 8" tires on 9-10" wheels in the back. The guy I bought from only had rear tires so I'm using 7.10 tires on 8.25" wheels in the front and 8" tires on 9.25" wheels. I think the extra wide slicks will look pretty cool although I've been warned that turning may be difficult.

Check the forums on www.4cycle.com for lots of info on racing karts and check thier classifieds section for used wheels and tires. I found a guy locally that had a good set of tires at a good price, I paid cash with no tax or shipping and got brand new stuff for less than 1/2 retail price.

I would run 8.10x6-6.00 on the rears with 6x8.5 rims the fronts I would run 7.10x6.00 with 6x 7.75 rims. Then theres the compound issue. If your on asphalt I would recommend ss44-55 Glenn
