Ape hangers

I'm starting a bsr and going for a harley theme, anyone put tall ape hangers on one? I'm not racing it, just bar hoping.

towman, The 2nd BSR I built , I put ape hangers on it . They were short, only 10" of rise, but looked so cool. I take my BSR'S to Car Shows, people spend more time looking at the racers than the car's. I'm looking for another set for my next racer, maybe 14"or16" rise.I think they look good and are comfortable. Post some pic's if you build it .If I can find some pic's of my old racer I will post them! Snakester:lush:

I had a set on my second bsr which is now my girlfriends. w2hat an absolute nightmare to ride. If you just cruising and piddling around there fine. Even on a straightaway wide open it became very violent and hard to control. I have 2 sets of demolished nerf bars to prove it LOL. Maybe you guys will have better luck with them

This is how apes look on a bsr...... Does nothing for the handeling ... I had a bit of a roll with mine on the weekend , hit a pothole and that wat that , it'll take some time to get it done but not all that bad , just some minor dings and a bent front axle mount

What Kind of motor is that? Looks like a vertical shaft. How is it driven?

Correct , it has a three speed gb that takes the drive horz. The motor's a 8.5 briggs

hows that gearbox holding up for you? break any yet? does the turbo really work?

if i had time, room parts and money.. mine was gunna get my 16HP Briggs vanguard:) threw a peerless 00 gear box ( there stronger then what your running if built properly.. will handle 40+ HP and 60+ foot punds of tourque;) )

Pop a wheely all the time and no breaks yet , the setup is now a draw through carb , i'll post some pics after the weekend

yeah we cant get those style trannys to hold up in the racers!! but there also alot heavyer then a BSR is!!
