new to the forum, and i just finished welding up the main part of the frame tonight, i have to order axles and all that stuff, gonna go with mike bean cuz the prices are good and gotta suppport the forum. i am gonna go with the tires he has on his bsr, the treaded borris? or whatever they are called. i notices some people have 11" all around and some put 10" in front. what is the advantage or disadvantage? the tires are not cheap so i want to make sure i get what i want. this will only get driven around the shop so it wont be raced or anything.

also i see this on ebay, although the tires are a little narrower than i would like, but i have never seen a bsr in person, so i dont know how they would look

also glad to be part of this cool sport. always wanted one, just got a fly up my butt and started to build it, i thought it would be alot cheaper than buying one. but after i spent 100 dollars on steal for the frame, i could have just bought a frame, but then again, building is half the fun.

Welcome to the flock. I have seen the ad on ebay in the past. I believe that it is a good deal for the tires. I run a Firestone racing slick on mine that I found on eday. The sizes in the ad you linked to are narrower than mine for the back, but the overall diameter is mostly the same. I run 6" dia wheels and the tires have less sidewall hgt.

The ones Mike has on his BSR in the pics are by Burris. They are a treaded dirt tire in 12.0 x 8.10 x 6 for the rear. He mostlikely runs them on a 9-10" wide 6" wheel.

For the price of the eday listing, for your first one, this would be a great buy. Generally the wheels are about $20-25 ea and the Burris tires are $40-55 each new.

Good luck on your project, post some pics soon. I am working on my second one now....

I have spoken to a few people that have purchased that same deal. Not sure if it was from the same guy, but the rims are very nice (brand new) and tires are used and old.

From what I have heard from others, they would have rather purchased new tires than start off with the used ones....

You get what you pay for...

Hello, Mike is right the Wheels are new but the tires are almost worn out. You can find new ones on ebay but you have to watch out you do not over bid them and some are buy it now for more than what you can get them for right off the store selves. Why put used old tires on a New barstool you are building to show off. Take a little pride and go with new!! Buy from some one you can trust. Like Mike!! Have a good Day!:thumb:

Also, Take a good look at the picks on that sight and you will see the tires are not the same brands. They are mixed and matched! Buy all the same brands with the same hardness if possiable! Just a sugestion!

Hey pupuslinger, Always glad to have new people in the Forum! It's cool when you fab your own frame. Watch out buying used tires....Your BSR will drive /ride/ and be in controll better with a matched set of tires. Keep on FABBING and post pic's to let everyone see your project!!!
