well, i will be the first to admit that i am not a great welder. I do have a tendancy to use to much heat, as a result, i have a slight twist in the frame. i dont know if i can get it out or not, i will be able to compensate for it, but it is still there. I am ordering the axles and spindles tomorrow so hopefully i can at least get all the welding done next week. getting some hubs and steering stem off ebay. hopefully the pics will work.

I can tell you a trick when welding that frame style. Let all your welds cool down, especially when you start welding the front supports. Do one weld at a time and let it cool tothe touch.

The same for for any foot rests you are going to put on. I once tried to weld both bottom weld on a foot rest (after I had fully welded the sides) and I will had pull to the bottom from cooling. When I only welded one weld at a time and let them cool to the touch I never had that problem again..

Good Luck!

You have a good start on the frame...Don't worry about a little warp in it! Like Mike said , try to move around when when you weld . I always weld maybe 3/4 on an inch and then go to another area just to keep the heat down. Just keep FABBING and post more pic's when you can.:me:

well, that little warp was bothering me, so much i was having trouble sleeping. i had a little tube left over so i started over, had to cut some off the old fram cuzi wanted to change some things anyways. i made it a bit shorter, the wheelbase will still be the same, just took some of the unused frame off the back. i am gonna put a adjustable wheelie bar on in anyways so it didnt need to be so long. plus i wanted to make it just alittle different. i had bought some plans off the net and made it to those specs for the fist one, but i wanted to change it more.
here are a few pics of the new frame. i haven welded the neck on yet, i am worried about how the tie rods are gonna fit. hopefully i will have all the parts this week and have it rolling by sat.

here is the back, i think i am gonna go with a 110 cc 4 speed. i can get a brand new one dirt cheap from my buddies shop. how are people doing the clutch, gas, brake and shifting?

i was going to put the clutch down low and the gas, brake on the wheel and have a suicide type shifter. not sure how it will all work out. hopefully i will have the rest of the chassis stuff this week so i can have a roller by sat. thanx for the complimets.

You could always pick up a 3 or 4 wheeler motor with the auto clutch...i forget what their called though. Hydraulic clutch?
That's what I was thinking of doing for a motor.

i actually got a 50cc from an xr50 honda today, got it for free so i am gonna try that, there is also a 88cc kit in the shop that i can put in it to make it faster, it has a auto clutch. on my frame, i made the frame shorter and i went to short and i dont think the sprocket will fit, i am gonna have to modify it. i have to wait till i get the other parts in but i am sure it wont fit.

done with the frame till i get my parts. that is the table that is not flat, not the frame. i dont know how this frame turned out so flat, my other one was not. having a wavey table doesnt help much.

Hello, Those motor mounts should work great! You needed a couple more clamps on that frame though!! LOL . Just wonerding with that many on there was you planning on running it like that? LMAO... Any way it is looking great! Keep up the great work!!

if i could have put more clamps on there and still be able to weld it, i would have. i dont have any more steel to make another frame so i wanted to make sure it was straight and didnt warp. i think was a little paranoid, hehe. i left them on there till it was cool.

found out my axle and spindles shipped today, so they wont be here for a week. i was hoping to have the roller this weekend, but wont be till next week. might start on the roll bar tonight, at least get the frame part for it done.

thanx again for the kudos!

i wasnt sure how to put a stop to keep my steering shaft from going up and down, but this is what i came up with. i have a bronze bushing in the bottom, and i will have one come off the top of the seat to stablize it up top

Somewhere, you need to match your color scheme with that seat.
Maby your guy could make matching hand grips.
It looks great, looking forward to the finished racer.

here it is as it sits now. got the 88cc kit in it. i was planning to kick it over with my had, the 50cc kit was easy to do. but now with the bigger kit in it, i wont be able to do it. i have figure that out. i am gonna bend the pipe a little lower and my wing will go over it and support it. not much left to do. should be done soon. i am gonna redo the stearing brace, i am not happy with it, i am going to move it up i think higher.
