Hi Im new to bsr and this site, I am hoping to build a bsr soon and I possibly have an engine but its 250cc from and older four wheeler, is that to big??? I noticed that most people use a 110cc or 125cc and I was just wondering if 205cc is to big.
thanks for any help

Hello and welcome!! As far as cc's are concerned no it is not to big! You will of course have MORE Power. Is this older engine a chain drive unit and also what brand is it? You will have to measure and make sure it will fit under a regular bar stool and hook up to rear axle with chain or you will have to make one so it can. It can be done just have to figure out the mods required! Keep us posted on your progress!:thumb:

Hi Devin99,
I have one thing to say...NO, it is not to big. If I had a 250cc available at the time I built mine I would have used it. There are some photos of a guy that built a BSR with a Twin Cylinder Harley engine on it in the forum. Your just need to be creative...
But like moto said, you need to determine if it is going to fit under the stool and if you can hook it up to the rear axle. I had a special rear sprocket made for the 125cc engine I used.
Is this engine kick start, electric start, pull start? Does it have a clutch or automatic transmission? Just a few things to look at when setting it up.
Sounds like a cool build. Now I need a BIGGER engine!!!
Have fun and welcome to the forum!

Hey Mike ! How about a Suzuki 230 Quadsport Engine. I believe it will replace the 125 you have same mounting. Reverse set is same, shifter set up is the same! Looks and measures out the same as yours came out of a 1986 Suzuki LT230S Four wheeler.:thumb:

Hello, Yes I can. It does need some work though! It needs the bearing plate at countershaft replaced. The chain came off and broke it. It is replaceable for around 50.00 new or find one that is used. I do not have the carb or electronics for it either but could find them on ebay pretty cheap. I would take 75.00 for it if you are interested. It Has 145lbs Compression and did not use any oil or smoke.
