How many of you are shortening the stool?

Is that "legal"?

Legal??? Anything goes with these!! Some people will get all hot under the collar about this and some will say hey your the creator of your own ride! To me anything goes except if you mount a house on it you have to call it a house trailer or motorhome! LOL:laughing: I can here the cop now " Sir the reason I pulled you over is that you are riding a illegal Barstool Racer, Your legs have been shortened to much and is not legal for you to operate"!!LOLOL:laughing: Or I can here people say did you see that fake BSR that dude has! "Aint that a dissgrace". I think Not! If we all had to build one the same to be a barstool Racer, none of use would have one because each one is different! Some build their one legs of the barstool and is cool with me and some will only build using a original barstool out of a working business and that is also cool! Honestly we all have our opinions on this and we should! I myself look at it this way, If you build it and you like it and it puts a smile on your face and others it was not built wrong. There are many different barstools on the market today. Some have backs on them, some have a single post on them, some have 2 posts on them, and so on and so on! But they are still called BARSTOOLS!! I have never seen anyone take a tape measure when they are looking at your ride and say HEY DUDE!! THIS AINT LEGAL!!! Your 2 DAM Inchs SHORT or 2 dam inchs TALL! They will look at it and say COOL MAN!! Where can I get one!! If EVERYTHING" had to be a certain length to be a original then alot of men would be to short or to long be called a man!!!LOL:rofl: Hey!! It is Not the size that matters!! LOL:rofl:

I just received a 24" Harley-Davidson Stool to use on another Racer.I can't wait to build it because I know w/a lower center of Gravity it is going to be really fun to ride. The best part of these things is to make it your own!!!Snakester:cool_dude:

hey all,
I am not sure what you mean by "legal", but before I built mine, I was looking at the dimensions set up by NOBRA (natl. assoc. of bar stool racers), and I thought, screw that! I will never have mine in some "sanctioned" event, so I'll build it my way. I haven't seen any other ones where I live, so no one has anything to compare it to.
Now, if you mean "legal" in that some people don't use "real" barstools, or alter them in some way, I say to each his own. I prefer an actual barstool, but that's just me. I lowered mine, too. and it's not just because I'm vertically challenged, I just think it looks cooler. again, thats just me.
what I really like is some half drunk moron coming up and saying "you should put a snowmobile engine on that thing". probably never even used a welder before. Some time I'm gonna say when you build one, you can put whatever the hell you want on it, genius.
I say, just keep tossin the beers back, and welding stuff together.

x2

I've built some wild and crazy stuff, and it dosen't matter how original you get with it. All the tire kickers in the peanut gallery that have never built anything will always criticize, and say "ya shoulda done this and that instead".....

I always say "that's a great idea! ..... you should do that whaen you build yours"..... they always shut up after that...

What I found, I guess if your going to run santioned races, NOBRA says 28" min. from ground to top of seat. If your just a beer drinker with a welder and some parts, (like many of us). Build what you want. Have fun and have another beer brother.
