he guys i am thinking to building a bsr but with a very wide stance.. at northern tool i can get a 44'' axle for 40.00 well what i was thinking about was to do the wide axles and lift it and put 25'' atv mud tires. or i thought about taking a bsr and just putting 36'' or 44'' axles on it. i think i would look cool. or should i just build a bsr like all of the others... i need help to find out what i should do. thanks guys

Consider if you put a wide axle on the rear to use a differential. With out it the wider the back end the more problems with steering you will have! I used a 48 inch axle but got a Peerless differential from nothern tools I think it was 79.95 for the diff. The differential from Northern is 38" with 1inch axles I bought a 1 1/4" Chromoly axle and installed them over the axles on the Diff. for my dual wheel BSR! You will want to use a Large sprocket on the rear to pull the big tires! This of course wil reduce top end speed but you will need the power to pull the extra wieght and drag the large tires and rims will have on the engine!!:thumb:

I used a 36" axle and 20" tires. It's fairly stable, but I don't have any other BSR experience to compare it to.

My Build-Up thread is in the "Photo's" Forum
