BUT I JUST WANTED TO GO ON RECORD TO SAY THAT THE DUELLY IS SO KOOL, THE BARREL IS FINE AS WINE, BUT I AM GOING TO START AN OTHER STOOL AS SOON AS I CAN AND IT IS GOING TO BE "TWISTED":dizzy: . I MEAN I AM GOING TO BUILD A STOOL W/ "TWISTED SQUARE 1" X 1" X 1/8"... JUST FOR THE RECORD, "I THOUGHT OF THIS FIRST !!! HA HA ":blob_red:
I WILL SEND PICTURES AS SOON AS I CAN. IT WILL BE A LITTLE WHILE, BUT I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE "COOL!" WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

Hey you stole my idea!! I thought about doing that 2 months ago! LOL:laughing: Not realy, but it does sound like a cool Idea. How do you plan on twisting the 1" tubing? It will have to be from a machine of some sort to keep it straight while twisting it. I would make the front bumper out of barbwire wrapped twisted 1" tubing. You will need one of my 1" tubing Z-bar handlbars. Make the Stool legs also out of twisted 1" square tubing. A twisted exhaust pipe! Man there are a lot of twists you could do to this build!! LOL:laughing: Thanks for the comments about my projects. I will try to get them completed right after the holidays!! I have several more ideas for builds I would like to do this summer. If someone does not think of them first!! lol:rofl: Keep in touch!!

Thank you for your input. I truely take your input w/ a great reguard. Maybe the stool will put me in the "MASTER FAB." catagory!! ha ha. I have several ways to twist it up. I can slide a piece if round stock in the square stock, heat the square, put one end in a large vice and "twist" it w/ a large pipe/cresent wrench. or I have taken square stock heated it up w/ a torch w/ two large wrenches at the "end and beginning of the "twist". The only problem will be if you make a mistake, it will cost me $1.00 per foot, :cussing: and I will have to calculate the total length as the 'twists" will eat up some of that, and then cut to final length then. It will be labor intesive, and a lot of time per piece. I will also have to "jig-up" each piece as I go or as a pipefitter calls it "target" each piece up. :hammer: And I have to remember the direction it will be "twisted so that it matches and "flows" from the front to the rear... I can also "twist" in one direction and "twist back" in the other. Or start in one direction for 1/4 or 1/2 and then go the other to the oringinal line. I can't let all that navy training go to waste!!! You can now see how "TWISTED" this idea can be and where I am going w/ this. No two stools will be the same due to the way you can bend and twist the steel. Maybe even a "loop" incorporated, ooopps I am getting to far ahead of myself...maybe I need to mix some CROWN ROYAL" into my head as I plan this??? oooppss, there I go again, thinking of a really cool gas tank while I am getting "tanked" HA HA. Would that be against the "MAN LAW" OF BAR STOOLS,:me: if I had a whiskey wooden barrel for a gas tank???

I think after you twist it, you should paint the frame like a candy cane.
It could be a Holiday Cruiser!!!
I will show you photos of my twisted frame I started 6 months ago...
Later..

Sounds like lots of work but it will look cool as hell! Maybe you could find a black smith shop and use one of there ovens to heat up the sq. tube. you are going to need even heat distrabution to get a nice twist. Git-R-Done'

YES IN DEED, I ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF USING A 55 GAL. DRUM AS I GOT TEN ACRES OF WOODS TO CUT FROM, OR AN OLD WEBER GRILL BUT I WILL HAVE TO USE SMALL WOOD CHIPS. I WILL START WITH PROPANE, AND THEN A OXY/ACYL. TORCH, LOOK AT THE COST AND GO FROM THERE... :bigcry: I WILL BE USING HEAT STICKS TO ENSURE SOMEWHAT AN EVEN HEAT MEAUSUREMENTS.

I fabricated 2-6' wide gates for a custom home I built in 1997...We tried to twist 3/4 sq. tubing and had a problem getting it to twist evenly. I had a friend who has what he called a blast furnace to heat the steel. After we couldn't twist it the way we wanted , we tried 3/4 sq. bar and it worked great...We weren't concerned with weight, like one would be with a BSR frame. The tubing cooled very fast , where the bar did not. We used a large bench vice and several 24" and 30" Cresent Wrenches. Keep us posted of your progress! Snakester

Thankyou snakester, i can also pack it w/ sand, again "labor" intence, but also a "labor of love!":hot:
If I do the front steering supports, it will probably instead if "twisted", I will what I call "twirlled", that is where you spin the length all at once instead of just a small section. If I paint it w/ a candycane in the front, maybe I can twist bardwire around it, hand carry it to the platers, and have it chromed, then I would be "BAD SANTA!!!", HEY I like that...
