Hello, That will work fine on your BSR. The shaft size is what a use on my Honda clones and most do! I buy Sterling 6.5 engines from the states for about the same cost. But that is a good price shipped to you!:thumb:

Fenters

I have bought both in the past and others. Of the three different clones that I have now, the only way to tell the difference is in the color of the tins on the motor. My last one was the Power King 6.5 hp, go it off ebay for less than $100 shipped to my door!

All of mine are pull start, but should be able to add electric start....

I have always bought the sterling and have not had a problem one out of them. I have had to adjust the carb on them to run better but very minor adjustment! You can add electric later but in cost wise it is cheaper to go ahead and get one with it! By the time you by the parts to install the starter and shipping it to you seperate from motor it will cost about 30.00 more!! As far as the other clone engines I have not heard anything wrong with them either. But once I got the sterling and had no problems with it I just keep using one I knew that was good! I believe the sterling has a 90 day warranty where i get them on ebay! Let me find where I get them and post a link to them! Here it is! http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-OHV-6-5-HP-6-5HP-GAS-ENGINE-GO-KART-CART-GX200_W0QQitemZ270078900826QQihZ017QQcategoryZ79670QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

If you think you may want electric start later, you are better off cost wise to go ahead and buy an electric start now rather than trying to upgrade it later.

moto1fast is right that you can add the electric start later but it isn't cost effective to do it that way. Also, I don't believe you will have the alterator portion of the system so you'll have to relay on a battery charger to keep the battery charged up. Another added cost to the upgrade.

i bought a sterling last night 6.5 with out electric start. i got to thinking that electric start would be kool but i didnt need it. maybe thinking of a tab right under barstool adding a longer pull start string so i can sit and pull....but we'll see...

Hello, This is more or less what you can do without going into the engine! You can remove the stock air filter and put a K&N air filter on it by buying or building a adapter for it. I made one out of a Billet valve cover breather and made a intake to fit it out of a ATC 110 Intake manifold. You can replace the exhaust with a Muffler from a mini chopper or build one from scratch. I have done both and they both turned out great. You can remove the governor linkage also with out going into the motor but I would just to be safe remove the internal parts as well. All you have to do is remove the left engine plate and remove the gear and shaft of the governor and then install the engine plate with good sealer. After you have done that you may have to adjust your carb for better fuel flow! As far as dressing up the engine you can either paint, or have your engine covers chromed. I would also remove the valve cover and have it chromed to. One very neat trick is to paint the complete engine (Less pull start cover assy. which you have chromed) all High heat flat black. Then take and polish out the outer cooling fins. Just the edges. Makes for a real neat looking engine!! make your own TAV cover out of stainless steel with your own design. The possibblities are almost endless!! If you can dream it you can build it!! Hope this helps some!!

Remember that motor is still a clone and is much weaker then the real thing. There are tons of clones in my neck of the woods. They tend to blow up weekly.
