Ok, I had a crazy idea today while I was thinking about a way to put a small sprocket on the rear of my BSR to go faster..

How about we see who can build the 1st 100MPH barstool. Now don't get all scared... I have gone almost 50mph on mine and it was smooth...

You would have to be upright on a barstool (none of this laying down like a rocket stuff) and just build a strong frame with a small rear sprocket.

I got this idea because I had an idea for a very small rear sprocket on my BSR like a 15 tooth on the rear. I figured that would get me into the 70's for speed. Then I thought...why not a contest for the first and fastest bar stool on the planet.

I think the run should be video taped along with a radar gun confirmation.
So what do you guys think? Who's up to it? :smash:

100 mph?? Wow!!

For safety I would think you would want to special build a BSR that was wider and longer for stability. One other area of concern would be the steering sensitivity. At that speed a rack and pinion setup and very wide handlebars may work better for more control.

Although there appears to be several sets of "rules" on the internet, I haven't found a legitimate recognized association governing BSR standards except the one for racing at the Salt Flats and that one is for electric BSRs only. All the others seem to only apply to a specific group in different parts of the country and all of them have slight variations. In this regard, I would think the rules for this endevor would be pretty wide open except to make sure you actually use a barstool for a seat.

I wouldn't be up to this challenge myself but would wish the best of luck to whoever attemps it.

We better leave this to the young guy's! I sold my go kart last June, we ran it at a local air strip on Sundays. It was clocked @ 103mph and I was in a deep seat w/harness and rollcage and 2" off the ground. I figured it was time to get rid of it. I have a buddy who is into BSR'S and remote control toys , maybe this could be combined to go 100mph safely. He has a racer that will hit 65mph.:cool_dude:

I love a challenge and I am in!! I believe I can build one and run it that fast! I have been up to 90 mph on a riding mower with a CBR600 in it. We just need to come up some rules about what we can do and what we cant do to the BSR. I guess the first thing is a Barstool rule. Does it have to be a certain height, modified or not, Does it have to be a store bought one etc... Mike can you come up with some rules concerning this build. Also does this have to be attained in a certain length or distance? Does the engine have to be mounted under the stool? Give us some rules and then let us go for it! But I am in as long as we can do this somewhat safely! LOL:laughing: :thumb:

i think if you have to have a full upright stool you gotta be nuts to do 100mph, with a lower cg i think it can be done ALOT safer.

Got balls ???? .............. got brains ?
